How to book a taxi in Rimini

Updated: July 11, 2026 · Province of RN

To book a taxi in Rimini, call the radio taxi at 0541 50020 or use the appTaxi app. Taxis don't stop on the street: you book them or catch one at a taxi rank.

In Rimini, the most common way to get a taxi is to call the city's radiotaxi service CO.TA.RI., available 24 hours a day at 0541 50020, or to use the "Taxi Rimini" app or the Webi online booking service to book from your smartphone. Alternatively, especially in the historic centre, at the station or in the more touristy areas along the seafront, you'll find taxi ranks with white cars waiting. Rimini is one of Italy's largest seaside destinations, with over 15 km of beach divided into numerous distinct zones (Marina Centro, San Giuliano Mare, Rivazzurra, Miramare, Torre Pedrera...) well separated from the historic centre, so it's always worth specifying the exact zone or full address when calling a taxi. Since 2025, Uber has also arrived, but only in the Uber Black version with NCC (private hire) drivers, not the UberX ride. For those arriving by plane, Miramare's Federico Fellini airport has maximum taxi fares set by the City of Rimini to reach the city's main areas.

Apps to call a taxi in Rimini

Uber — In Rimini only Uber Black is active, with NCC (private hire) drivers: unlike Bologna, the city is not covered by the Uber-itTaxi agreement that routes requests to licensed taxis, so neither the classic UberX ride nor UberTaxi is available. Available
appTaxi — This is the platform behind the official "Taxi Rimini" app used by the CO.TA.RI. radiotaxi: it lets you locate yourself on the map, choose the type of vehicle and pay by credit card or Satispay. Available
itTaxi — Does not appear to be active in Rimini: the city is not on the list of roughly 50 municipalities covered by the itTaxi-Uber agreement (renewed in February 2026), nor does the local radiotaxi use it for bookings. Not available
FreeNow — Does not cover Rimini: the service is concentrated in Italy's major cities (Milano, Roma, Napoli, Torino, Catania, Palermo, Cagliari) and does not appear to extend to the Riviera Romagnola. Not available
Wetaxi — Does not appear to be available in Rimini: the platform mainly covers Torino, Roma, Milano and Napoli, with no confirmed presence on the Riviera. Not available
BTaxi — Not active in Rimini: the app can only be used in Torino, Bologna, Alessandria, Empoli and Genova. Not available

Taxi from the airport

Aeroporto Federico Fellini di Rimini e San Marino (RMI) · ~8 km from the center

Taxi fare: Fixed maximum fare of 21 € for the airport-Marina Centro/railway station ride, 27 € for the Fiera di Rimini and 32 € for Torre Pedrera: caps set by the City of Rimini in agreement with Riccione, including the taxi's empty return journey.

Federico Fellini Airport (RMI) is located in the hamlet of Miramare, about 8 km south of central Rimini (10-15 minutes by car), and is also the reference airport for the Republic of San Marino. The taxi rank is just outside the arrivals area and is served by the CO.TA.RI. radiotaxi (0541 50020), available 24 hours a day.

Limited Traffic Zone (ZTL)

The historic centre and Borgo San Giuliano have a ZTL (restricted traffic zone) with 13 electronic gates, in the fining phase since 29 January 2026 (a fine of 83 €); in summer (1 June - 10 September) the Parco del Mare Nord ZTL is also active along the seafront. Licensed taxis, as a public non-scheduled transport service, are generally among the vehicles authorised to enter; for NCC (private hire) services and private transfers, it's still worth checking the driver's authorisation for addresses inside the city walls.
