Rapallo has no single radio-taxi number; instead, there are four public taxi ranks equipped with a telephone box, located in Piazza Cavour, Piazza Garibaldi, Piazza IV Novembre and Piazza Molfino, each reachable with a direct call. Fares — both metered and flat-rate for the most requested destinations such as Genova airport, Santa Margherita Ligure and Portofino — are set by the Municipality under Municipal Council resolution no. 118 of 2 April 2025. In the summer months, driven by the strong tourist influx to Portofino (which has very limited road access) and to the Santuario di Montallegro, reachable by cable car, demand for taxis rises sharply: it's worth booking in advance, especially in the evening or at weekends. As an alternative to calling the ranks directly, the itTaxi app is active in Rapallo, while Uber offers only its Black service in Liguria, concentrated on Genova, without real driver coverage in the town.

The flat rate only applies to direct rides with no deviation from the standard route; any motorway tolls remain the customer's responsibility. Limited Traffic Zone (ZTL)

- For Portofino: the village has narrow streets and almost no parking; the taxi ride has an official flat rate (€60 daytime/€75 night-time) and is often more convenient than driving your own car, as an alternative to the Golfo Tigullio ferries.
- For Santuario di Montallegro: the cable car connects central Rapallo to the sanctuary at 612 m; a taxi can conveniently take you to the cable car's valley station on Via Montallegro.
- For Genova airport, it's always best to ask for the flat rate (€120 day/€150 night) rather than the open meter, keeping in mind that any motorway tolls are paid separately.
- In high season (June–September) and at weekends, demand for taxis rises sharply, especially in the evening: book in advance, particularly for night-time rides (a +25% surcharge applies from 21:00 to 7:00).
