Taxi from the airport
Aeroporto di Torino-Caselle "Sandro Pertini" (TRN) · ~16 km from the center
Taxi fare: Maximum fare set by the City of Turin: €40 for the ride between Caselle Airport and the city center (ZTL zone), with night/holiday surcharges already included; €47 for Lingotto Fiere and the Hospitals area. Luggage supplement: €0.50 per piece exceeding 55x40x20 cm. Journey time: about 30 minutes.

Limited Traffic Zone (ZTL)
The historic center is covered by the ZTL Centrale (Central Limited Traffic Zone), active from 7.30 to 10.30 on weekdays (Saturday excluded); taxis are always exempt and can circulate freely while providing public service, even when access is banned for private cars. The zone entry points are monitored by cameras at 27 locations across the city.
Practical tips
- Be wary of anyone who offers to pick you up near the platforms of Porta Nuova Station or at the airport, proposing a fixed price agreed before the ride: Turin's Polizia Municipale has repeatedly fined and impounded vehicles used as unlicensed taxis in the city (e.g. in Piazza della Repubblica). A regular taxi is white, fitted with an approved meter, and displays its license clearly.
- In the city center, taxis are always allowed in the ZTL Centrale (active from 7.30 to 10.30 on weekdays, Saturday excluded) even when access is banned for private cars.
- The main taxi ranks are located in Piazza Castello, at Porta Nuova Station and at Porta Susa Station.
- For Caselle Airport, it's always worth asking for the fixed municipal fare of 40 euros to the city center rather than the metered rate, which applies to all rides to/from the ZTL zone.
