As an alternative to a traditional taxi, since 2025 Uber Black has also arrived (an app-bookable NCC chauffeur-driven car, not UberX), while the other national apps (FreeNow, itTaxi, Wetaxi) still don't cover Amalfi. On summer weekends, when the Amalfi coastal road is congested, the ferry to Salerno, Positano or Capri is often faster and more predictable than a road transfer.

The two fixed fares (Napoli→Amalfi and Amalfi→Napoli) are set by two different municipal resolutions and don't match: always ask for the fixed fare at the start of the ride. The route follows the SS163 Amalfitana, a narrow and busy road: in high season the trip can take 1h30-2h instead of about 1h. Since 2024 there's also the small Salerno Costa d'Amalfi Airport (QSR), about 45 km from Amalfi (~35-40 min), with limited flights; the Comune di Amalfi doesn't publish a dedicated fixed fare to this airport (the closest one listed is for Salerno station, € 130/€150). In high season the Salerno-Amalfi or Positano-Amalfi ferry is often quicker and more convenient than a road transfer.
