There's no fixed airport-to-centre fare: the ride runs on the meter according to municipal rates. The airport's official website indicates a taxi area both in front of the terminal and at the exit of the nearby Bolzano train station; it's still advisable to call Radio Taxi (0471 981111) or book through the "Alto Adige Taxi Südtirol" app before arrival, since the presence of cars waiting freely in front of the terminal isn't guaranteed at all times. The trip to the centre takes about 15 minutes.
Limited Traffic Zone (ZTL)
Bolzano's historic centre has an active Limited Traffic Zone (ZTL), split into two areas (the upper part and the lower part) with the same rules, monitored by cameras at the entry points; unauthorised access carries an 80 € fine. Residents with a permit may drive through and park during specific time bands (on weekdays from 19:15 to 8:30 the following morning; on weekends from 13:00 on Saturday to 8:30 on Monday; free access on public holidays and from 13:00 to midnight on 24-31 December).
