How to book a taxi in Breuil-Cervinia
Updated: July 12, 2026 · Province of AO
To book a taxi in Breuil-Cervinia, call the radio taxi at 0166 513532. Taxis don't stop on the street: you book them or catch one at a taxi rank.
Breuil-Cervinia, the renowned ski resort at the foot of the Cervino and a hamlet within the municipality of Valtournenche, does not have a single radio-taxi switchboard like Aosta city: the service is provided by a number of private taxi and NCC (chauffeur-driven hire) operators, to be contacted directly by phone or through their websites. During peak season periods - Christmas-New Year, Carnival, Easter and the summer season on the Plateau Rosà glacier - it's advisable to book well in advance, as the available vehicles are few compared to tourist demand. Since there are no street-hail rides available as in the city, taxis must generally be booked by phone or through the operator's website, specifying time, number of people and equipment (skis, luggage). No national ride-hailing app is currently active in the valley: for transfers from Torino, Milano Malpensa airports, or from the Aosta "Corrado Gex" airport, you therefore need to contact local NCC operators for a quote on request.

Taxi from the airport
Aeroporto Valle d'Aosta "Corrado Gex" (Aosta/Saint-Christophe) (AOT) · ~55 km from the center
The Aosta airport is the closest as the crow flies (about 55 km, almost 1 hour's drive on a mountain road), but it only offers seasonal charter flights (e.g. to Cagliari and Palermo in summer) and general aviation/air-taxi activity, with no regular scheduled flights. For scheduled flights, most visitors instead arrive via Milano Malpensa (about 180 km, 2h30-3h transfer) or Torino Caselle (about 145 km, about 2h), which should always be booked with private NCC operators well in advance.
Limited Traffic Zone (ZTL)
Breuil-Cervinia has a restricted traffic zone (ZTL) in the village center, managed by the Comune di Valtournenche with license plate registration on request (including for hotels and accommodation facilities). Taxis and NCC vehicles are exempt when carrying out a service for a customer heading directly into the area, by displaying the appropriate identification permit.
Practical tips
- Book well in advance during peak season periods (Christmas-New Year, Carnival/February, Easter and the summer season on the Plateau Rosà glacier): local taxis are few and in high demand.
- For the ski link to Zermatt (Switzerland) via Plateau Rosà, if you don't use the lifts to return, many NCC operators arrange the road transfer through the Gran San Bernardo tunnel: ask for a quote in advance.
- The ZTL in the center of Breuil-Cervinia is active all year round: taxis and NCC vehicles are exempt if in service for a customer heading directly into the area, but it's still useful to provide your license plate and time if you're staying at a property inside the zone.
- In winter, many access roads require winter tires or chains: local operators are equipped for this, which is especially useful for transfers to/from Torino or Milano Malpensa airports when it snows.
- For transfers from Aosta 'Corrado Gex' airport (about 55 km, almost 1 hour's drive on a mountain road), always book in advance: there are no taxis permanently waiting at the airport for rides to Cervinia.
Frequently asked questions
Is there a single radio-taxi number for Breuil-Cervinia?
No. Unlike Aosta city, Breuil-Cervinia does not have a single cooperative radio-taxi switchboard: the service is provided by individual private taxi and NCC operators (e.g. Taxi Willis, Cervinia Taxi - Meynet, Taxi Dufour, NCC Bertuletti) to be contacted directly by phone.
Can you find taxis on the street in Cervinia, or do they need to be booked?
They almost always need to be booked by phone or through the operator's website. Since there's no taxi rank with cars always waiting as in a city, especially outside peak season it's best to call a few hours or days in advance, particularly for transfers to the airports.
Does Uber or other apps work in Breuil-Cervinia?
No, no national ride-hailing app (Uber, FreeNow, itTaxi, Wetaxi, appTaxi, BTaxi, InTaxi) currently covers Breuil-Cervinia or the rest of the municipality of Valtournenche.
How much does a taxi from Malpensa or Torino airport to Cervinia cost?
There is no fixed fare: local NCC operators provide quotes on request based on distance, number of passengers and luggage/ski equipment. It's best to ask for and confirm the price at the time of booking, a few days in advance for winter weekends.
Can taxis enter the ZTL in the center of Breuil-Cervinia?
Yes: according to the Comune di Valtournenche, taxis and NCC vehicles are exempt from the ZTL when carrying out a service for a customer heading directly into the area, by displaying the appropriate identification permit.
